# Beryl Inclusion Heart

A beryl crystal shaded by real optics: the ray refracts in, the interior is marched for its true chord, and the colour is whatever survives Beer-Lambert absorption over that path, so thin tips stay pale while the thick waist goes deep and a fern garden of inclusions scatters inside it. Beryl is one mineral in several varieties, so the spectrum picks the variety: it rests as a squat golden heliodor barrel, draws out into a tall emerald prism, then a fluted aquamarine needle.
