# Acid Urchin Armillary

An acid urchin caged in three glossy tube hoops, cage and membrane unchanging, wearing twenty spines that each change species on their own schedule. Each is one primitive under nine interpolated numbers, so it morphs by deforming, not cross-fading, through four forms: blunt club, ribbed speckled spine, barbed hook, white-hot hair quill. Bass clubs the fringe, treble draws it to needles, and the change sweeps across the shell one spine at a time. Rests as the ribbed spine.
